People who are not very familiar with butterflies frequently mistake fritillaries for their more famous distant cousins the monarch butterflies. Most are orange and black like the monarchs, but with a different pattern and some are about the same size. They are as attractive and their life histories are perhaps just as interesting, although they do not make the monarch’s incredible journey all the way to Mexico. Sadly, some species of fritillaries are considered endangered.
I've been taking pictures as a hobby for years and over the last several I've been told I really should try and sell! Well, here I am... !!! I grew up in Massachusetts USA and now live in North Carolina. I have a passion for all wildlife and anything Mother Nature as you will see in my photos! My new love the last couple of years is "Horses" of all kinds... helping out, when I can with advocating for the "American Wild Horses & Abroad" through out to help keep them Wild & Free and not used for monetary gain nor meat! Next, I need to upgrade to a DSLR! Most pics were taken with an Olympus SP 590uz Digital. If anyone has one for sale, let me know or opinions on what to buy :) I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed taking...
